We present Live racing every Thursday & Sunday until March 16 when Fridays return to the schedule;
post time each evening is 6:30pm.

Rideau Express The Montreal Rideau Express runs every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from Montreal to Rideau Carleton Raceway getting you here in time to enjoy the live racing and taking you back at the end of the night. The bus ticket includes many extras; see posters below.

2012 Spring Racing Series
We are proud to host two significant
stake races each year, The 31st Des Smith Classic Pace is being run on July 15th and The 48th Frank Ryan Memorial Trot is set to go on August 26th; both of these races attract a high caliber of horse making this a very exciting event. Nomination sheet can be downloaded by clicking the link below.

Sylvain and Senator Bob Runciman hold up the cherished Des Smith Classic Pace trophy so Lisagain, winner of the big race, can enjoy some well earned carrots while John Blakney, CEO of the ORC, also enjoys the moment!
The 30th Des Smith Classic Pace, was run on Sunday June 5th, for a $177,750 purse. Sylvain Filion drove
Lisagain straight to the winner's circle to meet up with his owners from Ervin Miller Stable Inc, Mystical Marker Farms LLC, D And M Trading LLC and Mary Jane Anderson and trainer Erv Miller.
From post position #3, this 5 year old horse was able to break the Canadian pacing record on a 5/8th mile track with an amazing time of 1:49.2.

The Tara Hills STUD 47th Frank Ryan Memorial Trot, named for one of the founding members and driving forces behind the construction of Rideau Carleton Raceway, was called to the post on Sunday August 14th, 2011 for a purse of $147,000.00. Kashs Caviar and driver Mario Baillargeon, from post position 1, took the trophy with a time of 1:57.2 on a sloppy track after a torrential downpour. This Mario's Baillargeon third Frank Ryan trophy and second with his brother, trainer Ben Baillargeon. The Baillargeon brothers won the 2009 edition with Ziegler Hanover. Kashs Caviar is owned by Slaughter Racing Stb LLC of Prospect, Kentucky and Wayne Zollars of Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

Shuttle Service
For your convenience a shuttle service is available from the Greenboro transit station to Rideau Carleton Raceway, compliments of OLG SLOTS. It runs every hour on the half hour from Greenboro to the facility from 8:30am to 12:30am and returns from Rideau Carleton Raceway to the transit station every hour on the hour from 9am to 1am.
